Lucky Bo

Visual Identity, Collateral Design; Photography The Bangkung Row
2015 – 2023
Visual identity and collaterals for Lucky Bo, a neighbourhood café by day and steakhouse by night in Bangsar. Named after the owner’s late pet dog, the restaurant was later rebranded as a steakhouse that continued to serve humble local and café fare during lunch.

The initial identity was designed to evoke a bright, friendly atmosphere while communicating the dual-menu concept. It featured colour blocks, simple illustrations, a rounded primary typeface, and a complementary palette that echoed the interior accents.
As the rebrand shifted its focus toward steaks and bolder flavours, the identity adopted a stronger tone. A high-contrast typeface was introduced, and red—drawn from the glow of hot charcoal and the restaurant’s signature Josper oven—became the primary colour. Elements from the original identity were retained and used contextually to maintain visual continuity.
