Co-Lighting Design; Technical Team  Liew Chee Heai,
Klang River Festival 2022
2022
A series of 4-hour performances by multidisciplinary artist Liew Chee Heai, in and around his large-scale visual installation My Island, featuring Loke Xiaoyun, Sandee Chew, Tan Bee Hung, and Tung Jit Yang. Pushing repetition and body movement to the extreme—when does one lose sight of their original intentions? What does one become when there is no end in sight?

Set within an open warehouse space with minimal lighting fixtures, the lighting design aimed to evoke a surreal and mysterious atmosphere, with the island as the focal point. Soft water shimmers were cast across the installation-turned performance space, playing against the industrial architecture and the performers’ bodies in motion—an interplay between fluidity and rigidity.
